Current Project: English Kadhavu

A basic proficiency in the English language has become a requirement in many job sectors in India. However in many parts of the country including Tamilnadu, there exists a language divide -
Under-privileged students face many challenges in learning English.
Lack of exposure to the language, lack of teachers who themselves are fluent in the language, lack of extra resources like books and activities that are set in the context of the students' life, are some of them.
The goal of English Kadhavu is to develop multimedia enriched content that is tied to the curriculum and textbooks that the students already use and to help the students become more confident in reading, writing, and speaking the language. Kadhavu in Tamil means a door and by helping these students through English kadhavu, we hope to open the door of opportunities for many of these children.
